Knife gate valves are ideal for waste water applications

Knife gate valves are designed to work in some of the harshest environments and mainly for open/closed applications and to isolate specific sections in systems with high content of suspended solids. Knife gate valves are particularly suitable for sludge, viscous, corrosive, and abrasive media. Therefore, knife gate valves are often used in wastewater- and biogas applications as they are designed with a sharpened plate to cut through heavy liquids and sludge.

High quality materials and excellent design features 

The full bore of knife gate valves allows easy flow of liquids regardless of the viscosity; moreover, there is no empty space in the body where dirt can accumulate. The valve is self-cleaning as particles will be wiped off the plate during opening. Optionally, scrapers and deflector cones can be mounted for extra protection against abrasive media. Additionally, the top packing gland is easy to replace during maintenance without disassembly of the valve.

The design of our knife gate valves is robust and practical, for a cost-effective installation and easy maintenance. The valves are bi-directional, so you have no restrictions in terms of flow directions. Optimal sealing, high-quality materials and a full, plain bore guarantee great performance with a long service life.

Our knife gate valves are available with a body of ductile iron and a seat of NBR or EPDM. Other materials such as Viton are optionally available, depending on the medium and the operating temperature (NBR max. 80° C, EPDM max. 90⁰ C, and Viton max. 180° C). All knife gate valves are standard provided with an electrostatically applied epoxy coating for optimal protection.
