TECmix thermoshock protection pipes

TEC artec’s TECmix is a pipe spool consisting of a part of the pressurized steam pipe, the inner thermoshock protection sleeve pipe and the installation flange for a desuperheater.

The function of the inner sleeve pipe is to protect the outer, pressurized steam pipe from being touched by relatively cold injected water. High temperature differences between injected water and steam can otherwise cause extraordinary thermal stress and can lead to stress-induced cracks of the pipe material.

To reduce mechanical stress, TEC artec provides a unique design of fixation of the protection pipe in the steam pipe with spring-balanced supports and enabling the protection sleeve pipe to expand without transfer of the resulting forces to the steam pipe.

The TEC mix additionally can be equipped by TEC artec with further installation nozzles, e.g. for redundant probe-type desuperheater valves, flanges for temperature measurement and nozzles for inspection of material condition.
